A. History and development of the company Founded in Israel in 1945, we purchased our first ship in 1947. In the 1950s and 1960s, we expanded our fleet and global shipping lines. In 1969, approximately 50% of our company was acquired by Israel Corporation Ltd., which moved us away from government ownership. In 1972, we launched our first cargo shipping service. We continued to expand globally, including establishing a presence in China, and renovated our fleet in the late 1980s. In 2004, we were fully privatized. From 2010 through present, we have focused on changing our strategy and adopting a comprehensive transformation strategy designed to improve our long-term commercial and operational processes by reducing operational expenses and increasing profitability.
