What Costamare Inc. does
A. History and Development of the Company Costamare Inc. was incorporated in the Republic of the Marshall Islands on April 21, 2008 under the BCA. We are majority owned by members of the Konstantakopoulos family, which has a long history of operating and investing in the international shipping industry, including a long history of vessel ownership. We were founded in 1974 and initially owned and operated dry bulk vessels. In 1984, we became the first Greek-owned company to enter the containership market, and from 1992 until our acquisition of dry bulk vessels in June 2021 and the subsequent expansion of our dry bulk platform in 2022, we focused exclusively on containerships.
