A.History and Development of the Company Our current legal and commercial name is Compañía Cervecerías Unidas S.A. We are a public corporation (sociedad anónima abierta) organized by means of a public deed dated January 8, 1902, following the merger of two existing breweries, one of which traces its origins back to 1850, when Mr. Joaquín Plagemann founded one of the first breweries in Chile (in Valparaíso). By 1916, we owned and operated the largest brewing facilities in Chile.
