4.A HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPANY Overview Our company is a Canadian corporation incorporated under the laws of British Columbia. Our company was established by the partnership to be an alternative investment vehicle for investors who prefer owning securities through a corporate structure. We became a separately-traded public company upon completion of the special distribution in July 2020, and the Arrangement was completed in December 2024. While our operations are primarily located in Brazil, Colombia, the United States, and Europe, shareholders will, on economic terms, have exposure to all regions BEP operates in as a result of the exchange feature attaching to the BEPC exchangeable shares.
